A record number of people are lining up to buy tickets for what will undoubtedly be the biggest movie at the box-office this weekend—Disney’s live-action adaptation of the 1991 animated family film, Beauty and the Beast! On YouTube, it broke the record for highest-viewed movie trailer within 24 hours, and the film is already primed to take the top spot for highest presale ticket numbers for a family movie in history.
No stranger to the limelight, canine internet superstar Doug the Pug recently released a short homage to Disney’s Beauty and the Beast in honor of the film’s release this weekend, and if the response to his video is any indication, this movie is going to be a massive hit with audiences. Doug’s owner, Leslie Mosley, had intended to make a Beauty and the Beast-themed video with the pup for some time, and with the release of the new film, it seemed like the stars had finally aligned for that to happen.
“I’ve been wanting to do a Beauty and the Beast video since we started making videos of Doug,” Mosier said in an interview with PEOPLE. “So obviously when I saw the live-action film was coming out, I was like, if we’re going to do this, we’re going to do it big.”
