Soccer Teams Take a Beagle Break
On April 1st, football fans attending the Halesowen Town vs. Skelmersdale United game got a good dose of shock and d’aww when a runaway beagle burst onto the field. The frolicking canine ran circles around the field and players, and even though the men were in peak physical condition, none of them could get their paws on the happy-go-lucky beagle.
Attendees eventually stepped in to try and lure the dog over with snacks, but their attempts proved unsuccessful. It seemed like every time the beagle looked like he was ready to calm down and give in to the sweet temptation of a handful of treats, someone would make a move toward him and cause the dog to bolt and start the merry chase all over again.
Of course, all good things must come to an end, and that includes this beagle’s party on the football field. The little guy’s wild romp went on for a total of seven minutes, and, looking at the video, it’s clear that he loved every second of it. When a player finally grabbed the pooped out pup, fans and players alike cheered and applauded.
