    Seppala Siberian Sleddog Breed Spotlight

    Leonhard Seppala created this breed to be the ultimate sled dogs. In 1925 diphtheria was threatening the children of Nome, Alaska and treatment was hundreds of miles away. Seppala and other mushers teamed up to deliver the serum to Nome in the middle of winter. The dogs that ran the 658 miles from Nenana to Nome were revered.
